WASHINGTON – As the D.C. region continues to clean up after the storm, area residents will have fewer July 4th celebrations come Wednesday.
The city of Gaithersburg has canceled its Independence Day celebration and fireworks display at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in order to ensure all efforts are focused on power restoration. There is a possibility of a postponement date.
The fireworks displays at Einstein High School in Kensington and the Germantown Glory fireworks at the Maryland Soccerplex in the south Germantown Recreational Park have both been canceled, as well.
Rockville’s celebration at Montgomery College, including fireworks, has been canceled due to the storm aftermath. More information can be found here.
Unrelated to the storms, Jiffy Lube Live announced the Aerosmith concert scheduled July 3 has been rescheduled. Steven Tyler is under doctor’s orders to refrain from performing to provide vocal rest.
The concert is scheduled to take place Aug. 12. Tickets purchased for July 3 show will be honored Aug. 12.
